Apple holding a 'four-day shopping event' starting Black Friday
Apple is notoriously stingy with Black Friday deals. Some years, it didn’t even have a sale. This year, however, it’s holding a four-day event.
Specifically, it is planning to hold a four day “shopping” event. Apple’s site has a placeholder shopping event page, and the company has begun sending teaser emails to customers, letting them know about the upcoming sales.
Apple’s event will start 23 November (Black Friday) and will last until 26 November (Cyber Monday). Presumably, on those days, Apple will roll out several discounts on its own products, or it will offer a gift card with purchase.
Last year, Apple held an event that consisted of gift cards with the purchase of select devices. Again, it typically doesn’t do much for Black Friday – let alone Cyber Monday – so it’ll be interesting to see what it has planned this year.
Just don’t expect major reductions. If it does mark down devices, we suspect you’ll find better deals at other retailers, including Walmart and Target, both of which are offering sales on the iPad and other devices in the US this Black Friday. And there is KRCS in the UK that is heavily discounting the all-new Mac Mini, new MacBook Air and many other Mac products across its site.
