Are Bonito and Sargo Google Pixel 4 codenames?

Are Bonito and Sargo Google Pixel 4 codenames?

A couple of codenames have appeared in official Google software that some believe could refer to the next Pixel phones.

We’ve only recently seen the Google Pixel 3 and Pixel 3 XL launch, but talk has turned to the Google Pixel 4 already. And Bonito and Sargo could be next year’s handsets.

At the very least Bonito is thought to be a mid-range Pixel phone, based on previous rumours. But Sargo is new and could even be for something completely different.

It’d have to be in the same ballpark though, as the names were spied in the latest build of Google’s ARCore APK by Android Police. This means that whatever Bonito and Sargo are, they require cameras for augmented reality uses. That means it has to be a phone or tablet – a Chromebook at a push.

Of course, we love a good rumour here so are happy to go along the Pixel 4 lines until told otherwise. We certainly don’t think we’ve heard the last of these codenames, that’s for sure.

And considering it is unlikely Google will announce the follow-ups to the latest Pixels for another year, there will be plenty of other rumours for us to get our teeth into.
