Huawei P30 Pro render shows bonkers camera array on rear

There have been a number of leaks around the Huawei P30 and P30 Pro, with both expected to be launched during or soon after Mobile World Congress later this month. However, few are quite as odd as the latest leaked render above.

It shows the top rear of the Huawei P30 Pro, apparently based on CAD information provided to case manufacturers, but its camera array doesn’t look like previous leaked images. Nor anything else Huawei has made before.

To be fair, an Olixar case leak we received via Mobile Fun in January also shows a second strip next to the camera unit on the rear of the P30 Pro. It has two cut-outs in the case itself that run parallel.

But, that shows a regular four-lens unit on the left-hand side and the flash and focusing sensor on the right.

The latest leaked render is altogether more strange.

The image shows three lenses on the left-hand side that aren’t even connected (one is separated from a dual-camera setup above). The flash is then sited underneath.

Then there are two sensors and one lens in the second strip. Why? We’re not entirely sure. It certainly doesn’t make the Huawei P30 Pro a looker, if this turns out to genuinely be the case.

The one thing we definitely agree on is the Leica tie-in. We’ve heard that before, along with the fact the main snapper on the back uses a 38-megapixel sensor.

We’ll hopefully find out more on the build up to MWC.
