Huawei P30 Pro teardrop notch, quad cameras revealed in leaked renders
Huawei’s flagship phones are expected to be announced next month, and now, renders of the device have leaked out. WinFuture posted the images. They show the incoming P30 Pro, which rumours suggest will have a Leica Quad Camera, with a camera lens and three sensors on the back. One of these is supposedly for a new 10x optical zoom feature. Another could be a Time-of-Flight camera.
We have an explainer here on so-called ToF cameras. But, in a nutshell, a ToF camera uses infrared light to determine depth information in a photo. This provides a huge advantage over other technologies, especially for depth-of-field detection and 3D mapping.
We’re not sure what the other sensor is for – maybe ultra-wide shots?
As for its sibling, the P30, it seems to feature a three-camera array, which might offer zoom and ultra-wide, but no depth-of-field. The P30 series also seems to have a teardrop notch for the front-facing cameras. WinFuture claimed both devices will arrive with an in-display fingerprint sensor, too. Huawei’s Paris event is set for 26 March, so we’ll know more soon.
