LG G8 ThinQ price revealed and it's surprising

LG has already confirmed that it will unveil its latest flagship smartphone, the LG G8 ThinQ, at its pre-MWC press conference on Sunday 24 February.

It even gave us a glimpse of its Time-of-Flight camera tech in advance.

And while we wait for additional, inevitable teases from the company, other details are leaking through less official sources.

The latest is the price. Reddit user livedadevil claims to have spied the Canadian price of the 128GB version of the LG G8 ThinQ. An SKU (stock keeping unit) has appeared on his store’s systems, which he took a photo of.

It lists the price of the phone at CA$1,199.99 (around £700). That’s considerably more expensive than the equivalent model of LG G7 ThinQ last year.

Its RRP SIM-free was just under £600 in the UK.

Of course, the price shown in the Canadian leak could fluctuate before launch and multiple other factors could explain a slightly higher price in that region.

However, it seems LG is confident enough in its latest flagship and the tech inside to pitch it at a higher price, and closer to competitors, such as Apple and long-time Korean rival Samsung.

We’ll be able to bring you more from the event itself on MWC weekend.
