Michael Kors is best known for its designer fashion accessories. The past few years have seen the company expand into smart devices, releasing several smartwatches in collaboration with Fossil. This year, the company has released three new watches under the Access brand; Lexington 2, Bradshaw 2, and the MKGO.
The Access Lexington 2 and Access Bradshaw 2 are updated, smartwatch editions of their successful and popular analog watches of the same name. Design, comfort, and fashionability are a high priority here. But that’s not to say that smart features take a backseat.
The watches both feature Fossil’s Gen 5 hardware. So, there is a built-in speaker, an extended battery mode, 8GB of storage, and preinstalled apps like Spotify and Noonlight. The speaker is a key feature here. Utilizing the onboard mic, you can now interact with Google Assistant using your watch alone. And, with the release of a companion app for Android and iOS, you can take calls through your smartwatch too.
The Lexington 2 is available in gold-tone, rose gold-tone, silver-tone or two-tone stainless steel. The Bradshaw 2 comes in four designs; gunmetal, rose gold-tone, gold-tone or silver-tone stainless steel.
Alongside these fashionable, designer watches, the company also launched the Access MKGO—their first fitness-focused smartwatch.
Unlike the Access Lexington 2 and Access Bradshaw 2, the Access MKGO is not based on the Gen 5 hardware. This though makes space for a lightweight, well-designed fitness wearable. There’s tight integration with Google Fit, allowing you to track your workouts with ease and sync them to the cloud.
The Access MKGO integrates with Google Assistant, so you can change tracks, set timers, and ask questions, without looking down at your wrist or smartphone. The watch’s NFC-enabled Google Pay support means you go for your workout and leave your wallet at home. The Dials app, which is preinstalled on the watch, allows you to customize your watch face. Just choose between Glam, Fashion, or Sporty, and Dials takes care of the rest.
Starting today, the Access Lexington 2 and Access MKGO are available directly from Michael Kors at a cost of $350 and $295 respectively. The Access Bradshaw 2 will be available from October 2019 for $350.
