Xbox Game Pass list: What games can you play and how much does it cost?

Xbox has two subscription services for Xbox One owners. As well as Xbox Live Gold, which is mandatory for online gaming, there is also a separate monthly subscription service for gamers: Xbox Game Pass.

It gives you access to more than 200 games to play on your Xbox One for one monthly fee. And, unlike the company’s forthcoming Project xCloud or PlayStation Now, it isn’t a cloud service so you don’t have to rely on your own broadband speeds to play.

You do need to download the games but, once downloaded, you have complete access to it as long as you continue to pay the monthly fee.

You can even use some of the included games on a Windows 10 PC, through Xbox Play Anywhere. It’s only a handful at present, but the cross-platform games list is expanding all the time and there is a dedicated, full PC version coming in the near future.

For now, it is mainly for Xbox One and here’s our handy guide, including all the games currently on the platform.

What is Xbox Game Pass?

Xbox Game Pass is a monthly subscription service that provides access to over 200 games, curated by the Xbox team. You can download and play them as often as you like, as long as you continue to pay the monthly fee. Some of them might also become unavailable as new titles are added, but you also have the option of buying any of the collection outright at special, member-exclusive prices.

Xbox One, Xbox 360 and original Xbox games are part of the line-up, the latter two through backwards compatibility, and considering 2K, Capcom, Warner Bros and Microsoft’s own studio are among the publishers and developers signed up, there are plenty of top titles to choose from.

In addition, Microsoft adds day-and-date releases of its own games. You can download and play Crackdown 3, Forza Horizon 4, Sea of Thieves and State of Decay 2, for example – the exact same games also released in stores.

It is available to Xbox One, Xbox One S and Xbox One X owners. Plus, Windows 10 PC owners who are happy to pay for a reduced list of compatible games – although they will also get their own fully-fledged, dedicated service soon.

How much does Xbox Game Pass cost?

Xbox Games Pass is priced at £7.99 a month. You can occasionally find deals too, such as this one that charges just £1.99 for one month’s membership in the UK.

You can also sign up for a 14-day free trial to try it before payment starts from

You can cancel after the 14-days are up or at any time during your membership.

Is Xbox Game Pass available now?

Xbox Game Pass is available to all Xbox One, Xbox One S and Xbox One X gamers now. You just need an Xbox Live account.

What games are part of Xbox Game Pass?

Xbox Game Pass will always offer more than 200 games, made up of Xbox One, Xbox 360 and original Xbox backward compatible titles. Some might be switched in future for other games, but here is the current list of all the games that are currently available:
